Nostalgia Season

Second summer is giving way to fall, I guess. As a dyed in the wool cold weather guy I should be over the moon but this season particularly, late August through September, always has me a little melancholy. I dream about wild grapes and the last of summer fishing all year but it always seems to go by just fast enough to sting a little.   The workshop is a mess from a busy summer, but cleanup efforts will have to wait because there's a lot to do right now .   Fall peas are coming along nicely, if maybe a little slower than id have hoped. A Good Garden Season and a Corn Disaster

I've been busy! The workshop has been humming with seemingly endless projects and the garden has been abundant, but I have not  been posting OR taking photos. It is as it is. The garden was already spectacular about two months ago: But let me tell you it was truly spectacular  about a month after these photos. Nearly impassable in abundance. Just incredible. I arrived home from work the other day however, and the little boy next door flagged me down with great urgency: "Something sus happened to your corn!". And boy was he not wrong. A disaster! Some critter has helped itself to the balance of my corn. I enjoyed but a single glorious ear: raw and seconds after picking. A delicacy without equal. I hope the critters have enjoyed their corn, we all share the same yard after all. A small rent to pay for such a bountiful year. Gassho, happy you're here.
